Fluid Mechanics Introduction

"Fluid mechanics is the science of the mechanics of liquids and gases and is based on the same fundamental principles used in mechanics of fluids statistics, kinematics and fluid dynamics."

Well, here we go! The study of FLUIDS! Fluid mechanics deals with the properties and of course the mechanics of fluids. When I was studying the introduction of this subject matter. I, I mean all of us in the classroom were amazed, including our professor - you should have seen his reaction when he told us that Fluids includes GASES! We were all bewildered at that moment, how can gases be fluids? Are gases liquids? Are liquids gases? Talking nonsense we were, but I need to explain to you my readers why were we so shocked by our new found knowledge.

Back on our elementary and high school days, we often thought of 3 phases of matter - 1 solids (where all the atoms are compacted to form solids), 2 liquids ( here, the atoms are a bit farther apart from each other), and 3 the gases (this is were the atoms are very very much far from each other, that's why it is often associated in our lingo as the free matter for it moves freely like the wind). Now, with this certain classifications, we also pushed our brains to accept this law. However, since science has its thing on changing - you know the "Change is constant" and the "The word change in science is the only thing that does not change". Well, in addition to this changing phases of matter, guess what, there's another phase to complete the fundamental phases of matter - the plasma.

So, for us, the new students leaning fluid mechanics have always thought that liquids are not very far in comparison with gases for both take shape of their container and many more properties. But for the reason that we enlisted in our mind that liquids are wet and gases are free, and for the thought that fluids are like water and the liquid like only, these are our nonsense reasons why were totally bewildered on fluids.

Is science kidding us? Well, I know it is for better, new discoveries, new learnings, and new acceptance of a new found knowledge. Having said my talks of hate about science changing its thing, I have to accept that gases and liquids are fluids. Since science define fluid as "Fluids are a phase of matter and include liquids, gases and plasmas." We totally accepts this knowledge with pride.

The Best Country for Mechanical Engineers

All areas of engineering on today's generation are on demand! More to mechanical engineers, because of the industry's demand on factories and facilities that ease people's lives. But for one to choose the best country for mechanical engineers, here's my opinion on that. Every industrialized or any developing country needs every bit of mechanical engineers. When a country's focus target is to build their own industries to somehow rise their status or to help their citizens, factories will be made or buildings, and roads. Thus, not only mechanical engineers, but also all kind of engineers will be on demand. On this era, as what we can observe, i would suggest the UAE. But - but, if your own country is in need of mechabical engineers, i would really suggest to practice your expertise to yout own land - this help your nation and there will be a sense of pride to aid your own people.
